JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOLD OPEN HOUSES TO ASSIST CITIZENS WITH PROPOSED FEMA FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAPS
In order to inform the citizens of Jefferson Parish about the potential impacts of proposed Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Insurance Rate Maps, Jefferson Parish will host open houses at the following dates and locations. Each Open House will be open to citizens from 10:00am to 8:00pm on each of the respective dates.

FEMA opened the 90 day comment and appeal period for the proposed Jefferson Parish Flood Insurance Rate Maps on July 3, 2013, and will end on September 30, 2013. Computer stations for viewing the maps will be available with the assistance of the LSUAg Center, FEMA, UNO Chart, and local municipalities. Property owners are encouraged to visit the Open Houses and speak with the Floodplain Specialist to understand the maps and potential impacts. Comment forms also will be available for individuals who would like to appeal or protest the proposed FEMA map for their area. For more information, visit jeffparish.net.
